John Textor, owner of SAF Botafogo, made serious accusations against São Paulo and Palmeiras, claiming manipulation of players in recent games. The Federação Paulista de Futebol (FPF) has expressed support for the clubs and promised to take legal action against Textor for his unfounded claims. The FPF will send an official letter to the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD) to address the situation.
Textor accused both Palmeiras and São Paulo of player manipulation in key moments of their matches, without providing any evidence to support his claims. Palmeiras has already taken legal action against Textor, and São Paulo has promised to do the same. The FPF emphasized the need to respect clubs with successful management and internationally recognized professionals, stating that unfounded accusations tarnish the honor and integrity of these institutions and their staff.
Furthermore, Textor also alleged manipulation in the game between Palmeiras and Fortaleza in the 2022 Brasileirão, claiming that four players from Fortaleza displayed abnormal behavior. However, it is important to note that Palmeiras had already secured the championship title before this match.
The Fortaleza team has also issued an official statement, vowing to take appropriate action in response to Textor's claims.
